Dissonant Bridge by Sara Altman

03/28/2021

Dissonant Bridge

Secrets echo across the valley
(not registered by human ears).
Maybe the birds intercept them and

fly

someplace

else.

A woman buys
A butterfly’s wing,
wears it proudly upon her neck.

A monarch steals
my eyes,
as it floats

and
falls–
under the gaze
of summer’s stingy
wind.
